Florida State just beat North Carolina 73-70 in a truly terrific game here in Atlanta. Florida State was down by three at the half but shot 66 percent in the second half and hit six three pointers to put away the Tar Heels and move on the championship game Sunday.
Once again, UNC played without ACC POY Ty Lawson and it really looked like it hurt the Heels. Bobby Frasor is no joke and Larry Drew has been solid, but neither of them had any sort of answer for Toney Douglas, who scored 27 points and got hit shot whenever he wanted.
On a side note, North Carolin has to be disappointed with the play of Danny Green. The do-everything wing player who has played well throughout the yearwent 1 of 12 from the field and scored four points. That makes two games in a row he's looked downright awful.
No matter who wins the late game, which is going on right now, Florida State has a legitimate chance to win the ACC Tournament. The 'Noles collection of talent is certainly impressive and with Douglas leading the way, they are scary.
There is 8:54 left in the first of the second game and Duke has an 18-13 lead against the Terps. Check back later for more...
