So after the Florida State - Carolina game today I had the opportunity to sit and talk with FSU head coach Leonard Hamilton on press row for a good portion of the Duke and Maryland matchup.
The Gastonia, N.C. native was surprisingly down to earth, even after defeating the top-seeded North Carolina in an epic game.
He didn't have too much to say as he received congratulatory text messages on his very nice Palm Treo but he said talked just enough for me to get to know him a little. He also sat through two interviews while I sat next to him. In the picture he was mid-interview with ESPN. All the while though, Coach Hamilton was very nice and provided some interesting commentary on the Duke and Maryland game. Midway through the second half he leaned over and admitted that he didn't think the Terps would win.
I definitely hope the Seminoles pull off the upset over the Blue Devils in Sunday's final if for no other reason than to see someone else win the ACC Tournament. That whole Duke/Carolina dominance during the last 10 years has gotten old. It would be cool to see FSU win it in the Seminoles first title game appearance ever.
Matt and myself are headed over to the Georgia Dome fairly early tomorrow so I can do some extra work for Technician so check back tomorrow for more updates.
